Hana Chamoun
Hana Chamoun—born in London and raised in Lebanon—is an actress currently based in New York. She completed her BA in Psychology and Communication Arts at the Lebanese American University in Beirut. She then moved to New York where she trained in acting at the Terry Knickerbocker Studio, and gave the valedictorian speech at her graduation. Raised by filmmaker-parents, Hana knew she belonged in the world of film from an early age. She discovered her passion for acting at age 5 in one of her father's films. She spent her high school and college years acting in theater productions and short films, developing her love for the craft. At 21, Hana had a formative experience acting in 3000 Nights (2015), filmed in Jordan, where she also worked closely as an advisor to the director. Since moving to New York, Hana has appeared on Off-Broadway stages including the New York Theater Workshop, The Atlantic Theater and WP Theater. She stars in the acclaimed short film Salam (2018), which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, and has appeared on the Emmy Award-winning show Ramy (2020). She also has a leading role in the Netflix Original show Jinn (2019) and is one of the founding members of the theater company Society. Hana’s second love is dancing. She enjoys all styles from classical ballet to salsa and Argentine tango. Her special interest in Drama Therapy, especially for children, has led her to spend many months teaching and volunteering in refugee camps in Lebanon and Palestine.
