Petros Georgiadis
Petros Georgiadis was born in Marousi, Greece. He moved to New York at the age of nine. While attending Long Island City High School in Queens, Petros was involved with the drama club and performed in many school stage adaptations such as Footloose and Princess Bride. Petros also took four years of film studies including art of cinema and film analysis. Petros wrote and produced his first short film 'Running Out' in 2013 as part of a local film competition, The Sparrow Film project, in his hometown of Astoria. In 2015 he went on to write and produce the award winning film 'Bardo'. During the writing process, while riding the train, he struck up a conversation with a Hollywood icon, Lelia Goldoni, an actress who has starred in the famous John Cassavetes film 'Shadows' as well as 'Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore' directed by Martin Scorsese and 'Hysteria' directed by Freddie Francis. Lelia's connection with Petros led to her accepting the role of Lily, the lead in 'Bardo'. The film went on to be recognized by film festivals across America and Europe. The film won the Independent Spirit Award at the Sedona International Film Festival, won best short film at the Snowtown Film Festival and garnered a Best Lead Actress award for Lelia Goldoni. In 2018 he wrote and directed the short film 'The Flower on the Road' which went on to win the audience choice at the LA Under the stars film festival. The short film is now being developed and optioned into a feature film. After a six year hiatus, Petros wrote and directed the film 'MIA', a story inspired by true events from two of his close friends, one of which was tragically killed in 2016. Petros continues to be drawn to character driven stories that focus on raw emotions and the complexities of the human conditions.
