Aric Floyd
Aric Generette Floyd is an actor, known for Underdogs (2013) and Criminal Activities (2015). Born and raised in a musical household in Cleveland, Ohio, Aric was first introduced to the performing arts at age five when he began his ongoing training as a classical pianist and composer. His passion for music quickly led him to the world of musical theater, where he often performed alongside his sister (Carnegie Mellon School of Drama alumna Alexis Floyd) in local productions. Developing a reputation as an uncharacteristically mature child actor, Aric began his transition away from musicals with a role in the 2008-2009 touring production of "A Raisin in the Sun." After several more theatrical appearances, he made another career leap in 2013, this time onto the silver screen with his cinematic debut as the quirky Jamal Lee in Fallout Entertainment's "Underdogs." The feature also constituted a debut as a film composer for Aric, who contributed two original instrumental songs to its soundtrack. Two years would pass before his next feature film, during which time Aric finished high school as an academic and extracurricular standout; among other honors, he earned a scholarship to train at the American Shakespeare Center for his performance as a finalist in the 2013 ESU National Shakespeare Competition at Lincoln Center. After filming Criminal Activities in 2014 and graduating shortly thereafter, he elected to defer his admission to Stanford University and move to Los Angeles, California in order to pursue his professional acting career full-time.
